What Does It Mean To Be Unapologetically Natalie?

This time around, I’m directing this question to myself, and I will tell you what it means to be Unapologetically Natalie.

To conclude every podcast episode, when I interview a guest, there is a final question I like to ask them at the end; what does it mean to be unapologetically you? I love that moment when I see their shoulders drop, they release a sigh, and their eyes wander into the distance as they begin to think about their answers.

Well, this time around, I’m directing this question to myself for my first post, and I will tell you what it means to be Unapologetically Natalie.

As I sit here at my computer, thinking and looking off into the distance, I have to be quite honest with you all; the answer is, I don’t know. I always felt that a person has to reach a certain age, had to have been through it A LOT, or both, to identify what makes someone unapologetically them? What I’m about to say is not my concrete answer. There is always the chance of my thoughts and opinions changing in the future (and it most likely will); however, here are a few things that make me Unapologetically Natalie.

To be Unapologetically Natalie means to live unapologetically and not lower my standards. I will no longer diminish my beliefs and values to please anyone. If you cannot reach me at my level, you’re not the one for me regardless of who you are and the nature of the relationship. To be Unapologetically Natalie means that I will love and embrace every part of me; flaws, curves (or lack thereof) and all. I’m going to love me, for me.

To be Unapologetically Natalie means to be strong and learn from past mistakes and embrace them. I will no longer shy from past dues and dwell over wrongdoings; instead, I will look back on them and use them as lessons. Lastly, to be Unapologetically Me means to be happy with where I am in the moment. I will stop seeking what I do not have and start appreciating what I do have. I will continue to be authentically me and not strive to “keep up with the jones’.”

Overall, during this pandemic, more than any other time, I learned that I AM ENOUGH!
